Scripture(s):
Ephesians 4:29 " Let no unwholesome word proceed from you mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, that is may give grace to those who hear."
1 Thessalonians 4:18 "Therefore encourage each other with these words."
Hebrews 10:25 "not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging on another, and all the more, as you see the day drawing near."
Affirmations
from God:
We all know what it means to have someone to
encourage us and to lift our spirits. This is the kind of person that we draw
ourselves near to, but, what about that person who discourages us? Discouragement
is one of Satan's greatest tools. Why, because we do not recognize it as being
of the devil himself, that is, unless we are the recipient of the discouraging
words. The Bible gives us direction on being encouragers to other brothers and
sisters in Christ.
Application:
- Think about your influence to those around you. Exchange shoes with them. Do they see you as a positive or negative influence? What do others say about your Christian influence?
- Seek God and allow him to expose your true nature to expose your personality. Do you encourage or criticize?
Prayer:
Pray for yourself. Pray for your willingness to allow the Holy Spirit
to perform the fruit of the Spirit within you, transforming you into an
encourager.
Pray for the spiritual leaders and their
families. Pray that God will bring godly friends and
encouragers to your spiritual leaders and their families, to strengthen them
for the ministry and provide meaningful fellowship and times of rest.
Pray for the lost. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open a door
of opportunity for you to share Jesus with someone who needs encouraging and that you will be obedient to the opportunity. Pray
that their soul will be saved.
Such power in encouragement! I thank you for encouraging me and I am here to encourage you to continue to bless us with your writing. I look forward to following and learning from your series! Blessings!
